When explaining Hill Charts to my team I took direct examples, particularly the visual aides straight from the Shape Up book. Showing why To Do lists only work in theory and that in reality there is more work to be added to the list that is not yet captured. This concept of “found work” resonated very deeply with the engineering team and seemed to go a long way to internalize the concept of a Hill Chart and the problem that it is solving.
